Auction Terms
Effective Date: 1 April 2026 · Version 1.0
These Auction Terms govern the listing of auction events and equipment lots on EasiMachines and apply to all Auctioneers (third-party auction houses) and buyers who interact with auction listings. These terms supplement the main Terms of Service.
EasiMachines is a Discovery Layer — NOT an Auction House
EasiMachines displays auction listings for informational and referral purposes only.All bidding, transactions, buyer's premiums, and payments occur exclusively on the Auctioneer's own platform. EasiMachines does not conduct auctions, collect bids, handle auction payments, or bear any responsibility for auction outcomes.
1. The EasiMachines Auction Discovery Model
EasiMachines partners with auction houses to display upcoming auction lots to our community of industrial equipment buyers. The model works as follows:
Listing & Discovery
Auction lots are listed on EasiMachines with key details (make, model, condition, auction date, starting bid). Buyers discover lots through EasiMachines search.
Referral
When a buyer clicks "Bid Now →", they are redirected to the Auctioneer's own platform. All interaction beyond the referral occurs on that external platform.
Auto-Expiry
Auction listings on EasiMachines automatically expire and are removed at the stated auction end date/time. This is non-negotiable and ensures data quality.
2. Auctioneer Obligations
Auction houses and auctioneers listing lots on EasiMachines ("Auctioneers") must comply with the following:
2.1 Listing Accuracy
All lot details (make, model, year, condition, lot number, location, auction dates) must be accurate and kept up to date;
Starting bids, if displayed, must reflect the genuine opening bid on the Auctioneer's platform;
The auction URL must link directly to the relevant lot on the Auctioneer's active platform;
Auctioneers must notify EasiMachines promptly if a lot is withdrawn, re-dated, or significantly changed.
2.2 Equipment Integrity
Lots listed must represent genuine, available equipment — phantom lots are prohibited;
Known material defects must be disclosed in the listing description;
Auctioneers are responsible for ensuring they have legal authority to offer listed equipment;
Equipment subject to stolen property, fraud investigations, or legal disputes must not be listed until cleared.
2.3 Buyer's Premium Transparency
Auctioneers must clearly disclose applicable buyer's premiums, taxes, and other fees on their own platform;
EasiMachines is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by buyers beyond the displayed lot information.
2.4 Prohibited Practices
Shill bidding — artificial inflation of bids by the Auctioneer or their associates is strictly prohibited;
Falsifying auction results or realised prices to influence EasiMachines market intelligence;
Listing closed or past auctions — all auction listings must have a future auction end date at time of submission.
3. Buyer Information & Obligations
Before bidding on any auction lot discovered through EasiMachines, buyers must:
Read the Auctioneer's terms and conditions thoroughly before bidding — particularly buyer's premium rates, payment deadlines, and lot inspection rights;
Verify lot details independently — EasiMachines displays information provided by the Auctioneer and does not independently verify condition, title, or legal status of auction lots;
Inspect equipment where possible before auction — EasiMachines strongly recommends physical inspection of high-value lots;
Understand auto-expiry — when an auction ends, the EasiMachines listing is automatically removed; this does not affect the Auctioneer's records or any bids placed;
Note RFQ timing by tier: Enterprise and Dealer Pro+ subscribers receive immediate notification of new auction lots matching their criteria; Free and Casual plan buyers receive notifications on a +48-hour delayed basis.
4. Auto-Expiry System
EasiMachines operates a hard auto-expiry system for auction listings:
All auction listings specify an auctionEndDate at the time of submission;
At the auction end date/time, the listing is automatically expired and removed from public search results;
Expired listings are not recoverable — Auctioneers must create a new listing for future auction events;
This auto-expiry is non-negotiable and is a core data quality measure to prevent stale listings;
EasiMachines bears no liability for any loss arising from the automatic expiry of a listing at the stated end date.
5. EasiMachines Role & Limitation of Liability
EasiMachines' role in relation to auction listings is strictly limited to:
Displaying lot information provided by the Auctioneer;
Providing a "Bid Now →" link to the Auctioneer's platform;
Managing listing visibility, search indexing, and auto-expiry.
EasiMachines expressly disclaims all liability for:
Inaccuracies in auction lot information provided by Auctioneers;
The outcome of any auction, including winning bids, payment disputes, or lot non-delivery;
Buyer's premiums, VAT, taxes, or other charges imposed by Auctioneers;
Equipment condition discrepancies between the listing and the physical lot;
Website downtime on the Auctioneer's platform that prevents bidding;
Any loss arising from a buyer's failure to review the Auctioneer's terms before bidding.
6. Timezone & Auction Time Display
Critical: Always Verify Auction Closing Times With the Auctioneer
Auction times displayed on EasiMachines are based on your personal timezone setting and may differ from the Auctioneer's authoritative local time. EasiMachines accepts no liability for missed bids, failed registrations, or financial loss caused by timezone discrepancies or incorrect timezone settings.Always confirm closing times directly on the Auctioneer's platform before bidding.
6.1 How Times Are Displayed
Auction dates and closing times displayed on EasiMachines are converted to your selected timezone for display convenience only;
Your timezone is set automatically using browser detection when you first visit. It can be changed at any time via the regional settings control in the site header;
The Auctioneer's own platform is the sole authoritative source for auction closing times — EasiMachines' displayed times are informational only;
When "Show times in my zone" is enabled (the default), auction times are shown in your local timezone. When disabled, times are shown in the timezone originally submitted by the Auctioneer.
6.2 Timezone Settings — Guest vs Logged-In Users
Guest visitors: Timezone is auto-detected from your browser. Changes made via the settings control are saved to your browser's local storage and persist on that device only;
Logged-in users: Your saved timezone preference is stored in your account and syncs across all devices. Your account preference always overrides any locally-cached setting from a previous guest session;
If you log in on a new device, your saved account preferences — including timezone — are restored automatically;
To change your timezone: click the country code · currency code pill in the top navigation bar and select your timezone from the dropdown.
6.3 EasiMachines Limitation of Liability for Timezone Issues
EasiMachines expressly disclaims all liability arising from timezone-related issues, including but not limited to:
Incorrect timezone detection by the user's browser or device;
A user failing to update their timezone setting after travelling or relocating;
Differences between the timezone submitted by an Auctioneer and the user's displayed timezone;
Daylight saving time (DST) transitions that alter the effective UTC offset of a timezone;
Any missed bid deadlines, lost deposits, or financial loss resulting from timezone confusion;
Display errors arising from rare or unusual timezone identifiers not included in the EasiMachines timezone list.
Best Practice for Auction Bidders
Before bidding, visit the Auctioneer's platform directly and note the closing time in the timezone they specify;
Use a world clock tool to independently confirm what that time corresponds to in your local timezone;
Register and verify your account on the Auctioneer's platform before the auction starts — last-minute registration often fails;
Set a calendar reminder 30 minutes before the stated closing time as a safety buffer.
7. Auction Results & Market Intelligence
EasiMachines may collect publicly available auction result data (realised prices, lot details) from major auction houses to power our AI Valuation and market intelligence features. This data collection:
Is limited to publicly accessible result pages — we do not scrape authenticated or paywalled content;
Respects each platform's robots.txt and applicable rate limits;
Is used only for aggregated market intelligence — individual seller/buyer personal data from auction results is not stored;
May be supplemented by licensed data from industry pricing providers.
Auction houses wishing to enter formal data sharing partnerships with EasiMachines may contact hello@easimachines.com.
8. Auctioneer Partnership Tiers & Right to Modify
8.1 Currently Free Tiers
The Standard listing tier and Founding Partner programme are currently provided at no charge to approved auctioneers. These are commercial arrangements offered at EasiMachines' sole discretion. No auctioneer acquires a permanent right to free listing, free services, or continued access to any specific tier feature by virtue of current participation. EasiMachines reserves the right to introduce listing fees, modify tier feature sets, or discontinue any partnership tier at any time, subject to the notice provisions in clause 8.4 below.
8.2 Founding Partner Programme — Status vs. Operational Benefits
The Founding Partner programme confers two categories of benefit, which are treated differently:
Status benefits (permanent while account is active and in good standing):The “Founding Partner” badge displayed on the auctioneer's directory listing, and the priority regional placement position within the auctioneer's country section. These will not be revoked or displaced by later-joining auctioneers, including those on paid Featured tiers, for as long as the account remains active and compliant with these terms.
Operational benefits (subject to revision with notice): API feed integration setup, referral analytics reporting, inclusion in EasiMachines regional buyer campaigns, the number of upcoming events displayed, and any discounts on paid tiers (including the 50% Featured pricing discount). These are commercial service commitments that EasiMachines may modify, reduce, or discontinue based on operational requirements, cost, or business circumstances.
EasiMachines will not retroactively revoke a Founding Partner badge or regional priority placement except in cases of account suspension, breach of these terms, or account closure by the auctioneer.
8.3 No Guarantee of Continued Free Access
EasiMachines makes no guarantee that any auctioneer partnership tier, feature, or pricing arrangement will remain unchanged indefinitely. All currently free services are provided as a matter of commercial strategy and may be revised as EasiMachines' business model evolves. The current absence of fees does not constitute a contractual commitment to provide those services free of charge in perpetuity.
8.4 Notice of Material Changes
For changes that materially affect an auctioneer's listing or partnership arrangement, EasiMachines will provide advance notice as follows:
Introduction of fees for a currently free tier: at least 30 days' written notice to the registered contact email;
Material reduction of Founding Partner operational benefits: at least 30 days' written notice;
Discontinuation of a partnership tier: at least 60 days' written notice;
Minor feature or process changes: may be made without prior notice and communicated via platform announcements or updated documentation.
Notice will be sent to the registered contact email address on the auctioneer's account. It is the auctioneer's responsibility to keep their contact details current. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
